To allow myself to have the freedom to create works without a predetermined outcome, works that will invite viewers also to reflect on their own inner worlds.
My works are grown organically through a slow process of individual knots and twists. The direction is not planned or engineered; it evolves through the slow repetition of a disciplined rhythm. My focus is not on the outcome , but on the gradual unfolding of the creative space.
The practice itself invites time for stillness, contemplation, and permission to quieten the mind. The fibres are varied weights, depths, and colours like the strokes of an artist's paintbrush. I paint with the wool and explore the materials possibilities and potential.
The addition of the brass frame to the outer rim is a new material I am exploring. Unlike the former work, which floated more freely on the wall, the brass grounds the work and makes it more insular and invites the viewer in.
